What Service Manual Do I Need? 1996 Yamaha Pro 50hp - P50TLRU

Hi All,

I recently got a boat that has a 1996 Yamaha Pro 50 [P50TLRU] on it. I'm trying to find the service manual on it but I can't seem to find one specifically for that motor. The only thing I see is a general service manual that says it covers Yamaha Outboards 2hp-250hp from years 1984 to 1996. This can't be the only one, can it?

If anyone knows what service manual I need for this motor, I'd greatly appreciate the info (i.e. service manual part number and/or publisher).

Sounds like a Clymer service manual, which is garbage. I've used this tradebit in the past to download my service manual. The direct link to your manual is here: https://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/168959878-download-yamaha-outboard-50hp-50-hp-service

There are other year/model engines included, but this doesn't matter. So long as the manual specifically lists your year/model 1996 P50TLRU then you're good to go.

Check with your local Yamaha dealer for the correct Manual.
We use to be able to look up service manual #s on the Yamaha web site along with the owners manual, but something has changed and they do not list the service manual #s anymore
