First thanks for your time
I'm trying to find out what all motors this lower unit will fit on.
Mercury/Mariner 90 HP ELPTO Ser# OC189332

The service manual says it is for
1987-1993 70-75-75 Marathon-75XD-75 Seapro-80-90 (3 cylinder)

1988-1993 100-115 (4 cylinder)
And gives ser# XXX thru XXX
For the US, Belgium and Canada for both groups.

Question 1:
Will this lower unit fit all the above motors?
Question 2:
If yes then the extention and drive shaft extention adapter should fit the same.

If not could you point me in the right direction

Thanks again
Link

Glad I made your day. Just checked and the ratio in the box you have is 2.3:1, the 100/115 use 2.07:1

Just a small prop change would make it all good. In fact, if I was buying I'd be happy with that because the higher reduction would mean more torque.

Chris...........

Hey Chris
The gear ratio information wasn't in the manual. Nice to have since I want to include all the info I can. This unit was only used two days before the guy put the Jet pump on it. Two weeks later he traded it in for a 150HP with pump. At which time I bought his 90HP and it has been sitting in the garage since 1990. Time to clean out the garage!
Thanks again

Link

Link,

Just realized, the extension kit should include a longer drive shaft, a longer shift shaft, the extension housing and a longer water tube.

Chris.........

Chris
OOPS your correct.
The housing and drive shaft adapter I have on hand.
The shift and water tube adapters I will need to look for in boxes not looked at in 15 years.
Also the kit should have came with three longer bolts to put it together. One I have as it will not come all the way out while the prop is still on. :)
Being the Pack Ratt that I am if I recieved them, then they will still be here. (some where)
When I drop off the lower unit to be checked out by the local Merc dealer I will ask for the part number for the extension kit and make sure I have all the parts as a kit.
Thanks for the heads up on that.
Too many years/beers since I've played with this stuff and the one brain cell I have left is working over time 24/7 just for basic body functions LOL ;)
