Hi, it's been a while since I have been on here. I am going on a fishing trip in the north central part of Quebec for trout. I will be using my 1955 Johnson 5.5hp seahorse. I was wondering if you guys would recommend this biodegradable motor oil or any other biodegradable oil to mix with the gas or would I be best to go with the regular motor oil. Thanks

It is TC-W3 two stroke oil so it is safe to use. Just remember to mix it in the right proportions for your engine's model year.

Good to see you back tbone. Id stay with the oil you have been using, or go with a full synthetic. Maybe experiment with the "green" oil sometime on a leisure day of boating, not on a fishing trip!!!

id feel comfortable with either of those oils, but i have noticed a difference after switching from generic oil to the higher priced brp oil. ( less smoke and goo from the engine) i admittedly have never tried synthetic oil, but do hear good things.... but its depending on who you ask. ( i will supply the oil if you take me to northern quebec trout fishing!!!!:p )

Northern Quebec is a beautiful place in the spring. I hated to see that streak of oil behind near the motor last year when I was there that`s why I wanted to try the biodegradable oil. I will be fishing smaller trout lakes too. I will have to try the shell nautilus which is a green oil or go with the regular oil i have been using. The synthetic seems too expensive. But I could change my mind when I get in the store. Thanks for the help.

Okay I bought a liter of shell nautilus oil. I mixed the oil and gas at a ratio of 16:1 last year. Is 16:1 the best ratio or will 20:1 or even 24:1 be cleaner but still be good for the motor?
