WHat not to do when trailering a boat!

I had our Regal 2665 hauled and trailered to the dealership today for some engine work. I cruised to the local boat ramp and the mechanic took it from there. He loaded it onto the trailer and headed back to the lot. On the way, the bow line (never removed ) slipped off the foredeck. While he was making a right turn it was run over by one of the trailer tires. The line, which was still cleated, wrapped around a stantion and ripped it off the deck  and also bent all of the other stantions /flanges. There does not appear to be any deck damage. Kudos to Regal for fabricating such a strong deck infrastructure. I guess this also speaks to the strength of West Marine's braided 1/2" dock line which ultimately snapped.

I am starting to get over it as the dealer will be paying for damages... it had better be better than new when we get it back!

Hopefully this post will prevent a similar incident from happening to someone else

Better than new? I would settle for "in the same condition as when he picked up the boat".
