I know this comes up time after time, but here ya go.

Question: What motor or motors would you put on a 2006 Fishmaster and why? 4Stroke or 2Storke or 2Stroke w/ 4s kicker. Which Brands? Optimax, Yamaha, honda, or ?????? I was thinking around 115-150hp.

#1 boat used for fishing
#2 not worried about the cost difference between a 4s and 2s.
#3 Want to troll every once and a while.
#4 Want Reliability.

If you were to buy this boat and put a motor on it what would it be and why....that is the questions

Thanks

You'd get many more opinions if you asked this question in the more general Boating or Fishing forums, because this really isn't a STARCRAFT question.

Having said that, and if money wasn't an object, I'd put a nice, new Honda 4-stroke, somewhere in the 125HP range, then round-out the package with a 15HP kicker.

I don't think you'll find many new 2-strokes, so that's your first limiting factor. Second, although the 4-stroke's do idle nicely, a kicker will take you slower, use less fuel, and offer an added measure of reliability (2 motors are better than one). If you don't troll that often, or troll faster (with downriggers), then the primary motor would suffice.
