What motor should I get for my Starcraft SF 16 DLX

I am new to this forum and need some advice. I am looking for a motor for my Starcraft SF 16 DlX. It is rated for a 40hp but I would rather a 25hp to 35hp 2 stroke motor. I am looking at three motors right now. The first is a mariner 30hp 2 stroke oil injected, the second is a suzuki 30hp 2 stroke oil injected, and the third is a yamaha 30hp 2 stroke oil injected. I was just wondering what motor would be the best for my boat. I want to know which motor would be best in these catagories. Best motor on gas, best for prop selection, easiest motor to get parts for, best proformance (speed,power,etc...) Over all I just want to know which motor would be the best for a 16' V hull aluminum fishing boat.

Thanks

Any of them would be good. Do you have a local dealer for all 3? If so, get the one with the best deal. My personal preference would be mariner, but that is only if they are all the same price, year, and condition.

I was thinking the mariner too just because it is two cylinder so it would be lighter. And no they are not all at the same place but I am pretty flexible on my price if it is close. Can you get aftermarket props for a mariner 30 and what about the proformance between the three motors listed

what is the Max capaictiy on the Plate for your boat? Mine is 150 I have a smaller engine on my 17.5 procraft. but if i where to get another engine it would be a 115 or a 125 HP first of all is for weight distribution and next would be Fuel mileage. It would have plenty enough power and plane fine with the right prop setup. as far as 2 stroke 4 stroke. Yea it,s easier to just fill a tank on a 4 stroke and not worry except for all the problems I hear on the site aout the electrical system and the tank float sensors. Other than that there great. A 2 stroke engine requires more work when filling the tank but i find the are easier and cheaper to maintain and repair.

The trans plate should tell you everything. Tiller or console max horse power.

The plate on the transom of my boat says it is rated for a 40hp and my boat has console steer.

The bottom line is I am trying to decide which is the best proformance wise motor for my 16' aluminum boat? The mariner 30hp 2 stroke oil injected, the suzuki 30hp 2 stroke oil injected, or the yamaha 30hp 2 stroke oil injected?

I got an older 1979 2 cyl 2 stroke on my bass boat it does pretty good after alot of re doing. I saw the newer motors at the Merc dealer last week when I went in for parts and there pretty cool looking. Yamaha is a good motor as well

A 2 cyl 2 stroke engine is what i was originally looking for but I want oil injection but the only 30hp with oil injection out boards that I could find were three cylinder except for the mariner and some really expencive mercs. Are there any 25hp 2cyl 2 stroke oil injected outboards ever made
