Hi, I'm new to this site. have lurked this site on and off for years though. Anyway, I have a 30 hp Tahatsu that I love. But I'm getting scared I'm not going to be able to find a lower unit or a CDI , waterpump when / if they break. I think the motor is an 1983 or so. I can't find a model number on it. All I can find on it are these numbers . On the lower cowl right under the spark plugs it says "Tahatsu Japan 346-67100- , Then on the Transom mount it says 346-62310-, Then there is a side ways number that says 16150. And also keep in mind this is a round prop shaft shear pin motor. Not a spline prop. I can't seem to find an " M 30" number anywhere ? Guru , You have any ideas ?

I use to know what it was...But, when parts for it went NLA back in 92 I did everything I could to block it from memory:) Seriously though, nothing is available for it so tell it goodbye soon.

Seems the parts are still around. But you have to know a lot about Tahatsu's besides how to sell new motors. Does anybody know if the this waterpump rebuild kit will fit ? I think it will, just need confirmation. 361873220M . BTW Wheres that user called Captain. He kinda knows a lot about these older Tahatsu/Nissans. This is the best motor I ever had besides my 1968 9.9 Evanrude. I'm not going to ditch it. It always gets me back to shore . Another BTW, Its a model # M 30 A
.

That wp kit will work on the M30A3. Might also fit the 30A, but I can't confirm that without looking through my obsolete manuals back at the office... maybe later in the week. BTW, the 16150 number is the serial number. If your CD has integral plug wires, it is NLA.

If it's running OK now... and if the wp kit will fit... and if you really baby the fuel system... you may get a few more seasons out of it. Maybe.

But, as Elvin pointed out, that model and its parts went out of stock over 20 years ago... so... if you break something major, it's game over, unless you get lucky and find some dusty NOS parts on an olde tyme dealer's back shelf.
