what might be causing my Yamaha GPR1200 exhaust temp warning light to come on? <br /><br />Perhaps someone has had the same issue...<br /><br /><br />greg

have it checked ,I had a friend who burned up a rear piston in a yamaha TWICE because a baffel came loose in the muffler and obstructed the exhaust , it may just be a clogged water passage or even a bad sender but don't ignore it because the end result will be a burned piston if the exhaust gets too hot , you may feel around when you drive it and see if it is actually running hot.

They have been known to have the cat converter come apart and lodge in exhaust.

I have the same problem, and I noticed a lack of power recently, might be due to the fact that I started using cheap oil.

hi, it is possible that your cat has come loose inside the exhaust and is blocking it. You will have to remove it and either replace it or leave it empty and install a chip tha Riva makes to trick the ecu to read the temp sender is OK.<br />Hope this helps.
