I have a 1977 Lund deep V. Model S14. I bought it with a extra long shaft 9.9 Johnson on it. One fellow told me it was too long. the transom is all most 21". I tried a supposed to be long shaft mercury 20hp and the cavitation fins are above the bottom of the boat by 4". Did I really try a short shaft or do I have an odd ball boat? Can anyone help me figure tHis out?
