What kind of spark plug for a 5.5 hp eska, model # 21759431?

I looked on the sparkplugs.com site and find it to be Champion RJ14YC

But the spark plug I pulled out was a champion L87YC

Which one is right? and if the L87YC is the wrong plug would that cause it not to start?

RJ14YC is right, don't know about the other plug....if you find a RJ12YC thats a little hotter plug and works great as well....I use them on heavier oil mix ratios

Re: What kind of spark plug?

thanks again mrcrabs...I picked up a RJ14YC last night and am gonna give it a shot today sometime. The RJ14YC has about half as many threads as the incorrect spark plug that was in there. So I am thinking this could be part of the issue, combined with the fact that the spark plug was dirty.

Mrcrabs, I believe you have it backwards. With Champion spark plugs, typically the higher the number, the hotter the plug. An RJ14YC should be hotter than an RJ12YC.

I stand corrected T2S, NKG's goes smaller number the hotter, however RJ12YC seem to give me a bit of performance gain and are usally dry when pulled compaired to the RJ14YC
