What kind of bug is this?

This giant "thing" just flew into one of my windows and killed itself. What kind of bug is this? It's about 2" long...not counting the feelers. I've never seen any bug anywhere around here even half this size. :eek: <br />

Scarab beetle.... if it was down under...pretty similar anyway.<br />When they are a grub they can be thicker than your thumb and probably 2-3" long, although they curl up in light. Found in compost type medium. <br />Cheers<br />Phillip

kinda looks like this but none in north america.

I did a search and found that 1 in 4 creatchers on earth is a beetle.

That last pic looks like a cockroach (Palmetto bug).

Actually, it appears to be a species of the lower Atchalaya River Basin Brown Scambonie unspotted water beatle. If it taste like oppossum it is best consumed with a nice red wine, if flavor is more of an owl then I would recommend a Rosa or Blush wine.

I'm sorry, but those are a protected species. Can't eat em'. In fact, you could be in big trouble with the PETA when they find out you hit it with your window and killed it.<br />Get rid of the evidence.....quick! :eek:
