What is year of my Suzuki 85hp

HI,<br /><br />I have a Suzuki 3-stroke 85hp engine serial number 8501/0011370. Can some tell me the year ?<br />I need to buy a repair manual as every time I even tip the propeller off "something" the gearbox clungs and it has to go to the shop ??

That should be a 1980.

Go to www.brownspoint.com and click on their online parts section, the motors are listed by year and serial number. That's how I determined your year. Good place for info, exploded parts drawings and online parts.

You appear to have an extra "0" in the serial number. If it is "011370" the engine is a 1990.
