What is the pink arrow pointing at? This is a 2000 Volvo 3.0 GSM-A. I posted this in boating topics, but I think it needs to be here.

Not 100% sure but I think its the temp sending unit to the guage or the over heat alarm, one of the two. I'm sure others much more knowledgable on volvos will be in shortly and can tell you for sure. You could download a manual from the sticky section on your engine and it would probably contain a diagram that tells exactly what it is. Good luck..

I believe that is your temp. sensor for your instrument gauge. That's your T Stat Housing that is inserted into.

It's a temperature switch for your alarm.

Because I broke the metal tab off when replacing the head gasket. I couldn't find it anywhere in the manual and couldn't figure out what it was. Thanks for your help!

I still can not find this part. It makes sense that it is the overheat alarm, does anyone know what the Volvo part number is for this? Thanks.

Any Volvo dealer can get you one, did you ask your local dealer.
