Does anyone know what is on the bottom of this bottle? My friend put gas in the boat then it died. I'm wondering if he put diesel in.

Whats the top layer? gasoline?

If so its not diesel in the bottom as that would mix with the gas.

Very likely something water based.

confirm that by shaking a little with some water.

Antifreeze?

Not sure (ougt to be!) if brake fluid is miscible with gasoline.

Separate the two substances, then go to the smell test. That should tell you something.

probably find that every thing smells of gasoline unless the contaminant is itself has very powerful odour. Then everything will smell of it!
