What is this port?

Hello- I recently purchased a 2000 Chris Craft 232 deck boat. Unfortunately I've noticed the bilge pump kick on once or twice while I'm out and now water than I'd like come out of the plug when we're done. My bellows look good but I'm thinking the water is coming in thru these ports in the transom. I'm not 100% sure what they are for. There's a rubber cover that appears to open to vent something out. The blower exhaust is in a different area. Any idea what what this part is and if I can cover it temporarily to figure out if that's my problem?

If there is anything connected to that port on the inside, find it and trace where it goes. If it's connected to the bilge pump, that's a terrible location for the bilge exit. Blower only moves air through the engine compartment. Won't be remotely near the waterline.

The boat is in storage right now. The bilge goes out the side so it's not that. If I remember correctly, there are hoses that run to the front of the boat that are soft plastic- almost like a vacuum has. I'm guessing it vents something but don't know what exactly. I want to cover them and go out to see if that solves my problem.

They are for the floor drains. They are plastic and can crack. Chris Craft supplied us with chrome plated bronze thru hulls after a few boats sank back then. The rubber flap helps with large amounts of water when backing up, but doesn’t do much for small amounts of water. Suggest you inspect the fittings and hoses closely.

Not a Volvo Penta problem, suggest this thread be moved.

Thank you - I'll take a look at them tonight and see if that's my issue.

That is a scupper valve.
Never seen them used in critical applications. Normally used on splash well and cockpit drains.
As noted above, a closer inspection is warranted

I will put money on one of your two bellows as being the issue. I assume it's a Mercruiser drive. Just looking at them is not good enough. You have to pull the drive to properly inspect it. As in running your fingers across and into every crevice and fold. And that's not always 100% correct as hairline splits are not going to be felt .Shift cable is a bit harder to inspect . If they haven't been replaced in the last 5-7 years or so they are both due . Scuppers in your case should be draining into the lake not the bilge .

I have similiar on my Sylvan boat, on mine they are the drains to the live wells. I dont use my live wells but the interior hose traces back to them
