Finishing up the rebuild of a 1989 Bravo 1 7.4L. All is going well. Plan on starting it up this weekend.

The parts table is nearly empty... but I have this nifty piece looking for a home... It has been with the Power Steering pump, but I cannot figure out where it goes. Anyone have a brilliant mind.

I have been searching the Service manual but no luck.

Thanks.. and yes join in and laugh really hard, I know I am... :D

It is made out of 1/4" steel, approximately 6" long

Isn't that an exhaust bearing support? :)

It's mounted on one of the alt. mounting bolts, check size of bolt to bracket hole.
I can't remember if it went on the front or back of the alt.
Other end attaches to the head, my memory sucks.

I just ran out and checked... I don't think so... I had to replace both of my exhaust bearings with the rebuild.

I found a great price here. I hope I don't upset Iboats that I did not buy from them, and they are made for mufflers... I don't know if the are USCG approved... but they were really cheap...

Funny... I have 2 of those things. Painted green. They hold up the mower deck on my Deere :)
