post 16. If you have water entering at the arrow your main bellow has a leak. If not corrected promtly the U joints will fail, the gimbal bearing will fail and the water will get into the outdrive and cause it to fail.
Shift into fwd, remove the hyd rams, remove 6 nuts, pull straight back and off

You may be able to see the tear in the main bellows from the outside -- but pulling the drive will allow a better inspection

If the bellows is due for service you may want to service other wear items at that time -- trim sensors, shift cable, impeller, all 3 bellows, gimbal bearing , u-joints etc

So for an update...

I just got done pulling the drive off and discovered gobs of silicone pulling away from the bell housing and NO GASKET! What the hell...

So I ordered a bellows kit that has the gasket and the gimbal bearing, as well as an impeller kit so I know it will be good. The U-joint feels solid, no play at all so I'm going to leave that for now.

The only thing I can't find is the rod end pin for the trim cylinders, the only place it shows up is in a trim kit for $400 and I am not going to pay that. The one end of the pin is stripped and the other nut is seized. Any suggestions?

get a thread chaser and try to clean up the threads, if it is stripped totally, try using a dye 1 size smaller and use a smaller nut.
also , check ebay
