Hi,<br /><br />I've purchased a 100 Honda (10 hp), four stroke, CDI. <br /><br />The serial/model number tag is missing on the shaft. Aside from this tag, is there anywhere else on the motor that identifies the serial or model number or year? I need this to buy parts, as this is a rebuild project. I presume the motor was sold in Canada or US. <br /><br />The cowling is white, the longshaft is blue, the powerhead is grey, and the propellor is yellow. <br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Edward.

Not sure about the Honda. But many motor have a plug on the powerhead that has the model and serial number stamped into it. Look aroud the powerhead for a quarter sized recessed plug.

Hondas have a frame number and an engine serial number..it is stamped on the block...white cowling suggests late 70's to early 80's and most of the parts are still available

I found the numbers punched on the powerhead! Very pleased. The boatstore tells me it is a 1985 or 1986 engine. On with the re & re.
