What is the wire next to the # 1 spark plug?

Is it for a tach? Is it terminal E on the instrument connector on the shifter? If the wire isn't was is it and which one is for the tach? It is an '84 90HP. Thanks! :cool:

tan, it goes in to the head right next to the # 1 spark plug

That is your temp control wire(Overheat). You should have a plug in for your tach on the control below the key switch.

I don't have the other end of the connector. I don't know which wire is the tach signal.

The gray wire goes to the "S" post on the back of the tach. The tan wire goes to the high temp warning horn.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
