I have a couple 85 HP lower units I plan to make E-Drives out of. The motor company wants to know if their motor will overpower the drives. So, I have to find out what the touque output of the engine is so I can satisfy the manufacturer.

I would guess 85 ft lbs at 5252 RPM.

I would say that would be close enough for government work. When I run the actual equation, and use 5500 rpms as the outboards peak HP rpm. I get 81.73 ft/lbs of tq at 5500.

Other than that, there is no way to figure out actual "peak" torque unless you dyno it, as mercury never dyno'd the engine and released charts for public consumption. If I had to guess it's probably 110 ft/lbs or so at 3500 to 4k rpms, and then starts to go down as you inch closer to peak HP.

Thanks guys, that is just what I needed. The motor only puts out 60 at full stall, and the vendor says it should not be used extensively beond 50% of that so, PERFECT.
