what is the proper idle speed when trolling

90 Hp Force L-unit: When in neutral I set the idle Rpm to 700-800 Rpm.When I put in gear and troll forward she sometime stops. <br />Q: what is the proper Rmp speed ( & whats the highest Rmp setting without hurting the gears )when in forward and just trolling I don't want to damage the gears.

Turn it up to a 1000 or even 1100. I had the same problem and now it's fixed. Our boats are twins and this probably will fix you. My boat ran great afterwards and NO problems with the stalling.<br /><br />But, However A new one appeared!..LOL..But not with the motor.
