Hello, I'm writing a book where I have a brief mention of a fishing boat and want to mention the diagonal line that runs from the bow to the mast, as shown in this image https://www.vectorstock.com/royalty-free-vector/small-fishing-boat-vector-20644287

I've tried googling it but all I could find was forestay, which seems to bring up sail boats when I search it.

Also, what are the different lines on fishing boats called? Is it just referred to collectively as rigging?

Any help anyone could provide would be really useful!

Thanks in advance

Your fishing boat example has a mast. A Stay is used to secure a mast. I think Forestay would be appropriate. Since the mast also has a boom, it would appear that a sail could also be installed. Since there is only one mast, the cable could also be called a Mainstay.
