What is the difference in a '04 Johnson 90hp. and a 115hp? Mechanics secret?

Hello,

There is a rumor and mechanics around here in my area are not telling what or how you get a 90hp Johnson to run like a 115hp. The powerheads are the same. Is it the carbs that make it a 115hp.

I have a 2004 90HP 4 stroke saltwater edition outboard. I was told the they you can make these into the 115hp. What is different to do this. Anyone have any ideas?

Cam, exhaust geometry, throttle body, but most of all, ECM.

A lot cheaper to get a 115 and put a 90 cowling on it.
