What is the difference between three and four blade prop?

Hi,<br /><br />I have 19 pitch 3 blade prop on my 120HP Force and I was wondering what going to happened if I will replace it with 19 pitch four blade prop?<br /><br />Will I get better high-end speed? How much holeshot will I lose?<br /><br />Thanks folks.<br /><br />Alex_A

Number of blades and pitch are only two of the many differences in props, Alex.<br /><br />All other things being equal (which they almost never are) the 4 blade prop will get more bite for hole shot and offer more drag to reduce top speed.<br /><br />One thing will change for sure. You will have a thinner wallet.<br /><br />In my opinion, though, putting an expensive SS 4 blade prop on a Force is sort of like putting a supercharger on a Yugo.<br /><br />DHadley can give you much better info than I can.<br /><br />Good luck.

THe difference is that one has 3blades and the other one has 4blades.
