what is the diference between crusader and mercruiser?

hi there again I would like to know what is the difference between a crusader engine 5.0 and a mercruiser engine 5.0 look the same, I have a mercruiser will be the same if my motor go bad and I buy a crusader thanks.

The engines are both Chevy 305 (5.0L) engines. The difference is the accessories. Manifolds, linkage, raw water pumps etc. You don't even want to know what may be different electrically.

Pretty much the Same, only different Differences between,...
A Merc. 5.0l,+ a Volvo 5.0l,... or an OMC 5.0l,... or a Yamaha 5.0l,..

ok I was doing this question beacuse I went to the boat show in fort lauderdale florida and I found a company selling brand new crusader engines with carburetor on a very good price the I was looking the engine and look almos the same I asked the guy about if my manifolds will fit he told me yes later I will post their website they have good prices on brand new engines.

crusader does make a direct replacement for mercruiser. I think it is called the power pack. I had one on my last boat. It is a direct replacement as long as your get the right vintage. I did not so I have to change my flywheel and starter. It came with a high rise intake and carb. Nice engine.

yes that was the one that they show me look nice is a brand new engine with carburetor, distributor, the only part not included was the manifolds but the price was good 3200$, They told me 1 year warranty.

Yea, sounds about right.. You can use mercrusier manifolds and risers with it to. I used center mount 4" risers

My engine still good, I have new manifolds and risers so I want to keep this people just in case or for future if my engine go bad.
