What is Seafoam and what does it do?

I keep hearing about seafoam but I just want to know what it does for your engine, how to use it, and where to buy it from?

It comes from MN and I was told it was formulated for OMC. Guessing.....OMC was having engine problems, way back when, and had this stuff formulated to clean them up. Once they formulated it (my guess) somebody tried it in other things and found out it worked great on all engines.

Been told:

Has oil so you can shoot it in your 2cy outboard.

Has Naptha, a solvent which does the real work....don't tell you which naptha.

Has alcohol to clean up water in the fuel tank.

And with oil, naptha, and alcohol you can use it for a starting fluid; maybe what they designed it for.....getting 2 cycle OB's to fire off in MN winters.....but aren't things frozen up in the winter up there? :%

What it does:
Cleans fuel system.
Keeps cylinders and rings clean and prevents them from sticking.
Which increased compression.

If you decarb with it, it can free up stuck rings.

Sure is, makes it a pain in the butt to go trolling in the winter o though its easy to pull a skier up in the winter behind a snowmobile and it adds a whole degree of fun to tubing when the tuber biffs and huge cloud of snow goes flying!

Dunno why Wally doesn't have it but Wally runs to a different drum beat.....what they can get for nothing today. Tomorrow they will will have a whole new shelf full of what they got for nothing that day.....sad but true. :% Got tired of depending on them for supplies for that reason. Hate to go there anymore. Shop elsewhere. After about a billion people get tired of their marketing strategies, maybe they will go broke or have some consideration for their employees and customers. :devil:

The Walmart here has Deep Creep, but not Seafoam. Probably won't be too long before they get it....
