what is red pointer on throttle cam

should this pointer be on the cam or facing away where nothing touches it ( on a 1994 40hp) my motor will only run if it faces away

welcome brogden31, apparently the question is not very clear. are you talking about the little arrow point shape handle on the primer, black box with fuel line going into it. if you need to take a picture, click my name an email it to me. i'll post it.

If it runs that way, I suppose that's the right position...
