I have been reading quite a few threads lately where people refer to the propeller pitch as 'degrees'...
That makes me want to

The pitch of a propeller is a measurement of how far forward, in inches, that propeller would move in one rotation, assuming no slip.
I have a 17P (17 INCH pitch) propeller on my engine....
This is what 17 degrees looks like....

This is what that propeller looks like from the side....

Firstly, you'll also notice the blade angle changes between root and tip, so how
can the pitch be referred to by angle?
Secondly, does that blade root angle look even remotely like 17 degrees? No, so
stop referring to propeller pitches in degrees, or I may have to send this guy out after you!

Cheers.
