What is my boat made of ????

I just picked up an old Bombard AX2 that someone gave me.... I think 1989 model..... it is a small roll up inflatable and looks like pretty decent quality.... It has a small leak on the side and the transom has separated from the tubes.... before I patch and reglue the transom can someone tell me if my boat is made of PVC or Hypalon? How do you tell the difference. Any other tips/recommendations are appreciated..........

Should be PVC made. Hypalon is very smooth when sliding finger against fabric, PVC fabric is more dotted, tiny square rugged when compared.

MEK will noticeably soften PVC and have almost no effect on hypalon. Tolulene will noticeably soften hypalon and have almsot no effect on PVC.You can also look up your particular vessel in a data base that is listed here: http://www.riverconnection.com/inflatable-repair-information-a-51.html

The Bombard is PVC. Tolulene does not soften Hypalon and it will melt PVC.
