What is meant by the term "holeshot"? I have had numerous replies to do with my Johnson 35hp outboard and am a bit confused. Could someone explain this to me?

Refers to the amount of time to go from a dead stop (in the hole) to up on-plane. People pulling skiers/wake boarders...towing in general are usually more concerned with this aspect of performance.

Yup. Kind of equivalent to 0-60 times for cars. It wil depend on a variety of factors including weight of the vessle, it's shape, weight, etc...
