What is it?

What is it? On the top of my 1991 70hp Force outboard there is a little off-white threaded plastic plug with a square head that I can not find in the book. It is right on the top of the engine in line with the spark plugs. I hope I am not missing some kind of lube I am supposed to be doing.

Could it be an access port to the waterjacket? That's what I suspected it was.

If it's as duck-n-pond says, then it might be a great place to install a water pressure gauge and tubing.

Thanks. If that is all it is, why does it even have a plug? Why would it need access?
