What is equivalent spark plug?

2003 Merc 20hp owner's manual calls for plug NGK BP8H-N-10.<br /><br />What's the equivalent Champion or other brand?<br /><br />Thanks.

Don't know why you would want to change from the recommended plug, but a Champion L78YC is the cross for the NGK BP8H-N-10... NGK's run better in Mercs and Champions run better in OMC products. Don't ask me why, they just do.. Something to do with the heat range is a bit different with different plugs, even though they cross over...

Thanks, not looking to change necessarily, but want to have extras on hand and figured Champions would be more readily available. Knowing this, will probably stick to NGK.<br /><br />
