What is the average number of hours that should be expected for 2007 Chaparral SSI 21' bow rider.
Looking at one that I may buy and am trying to do all the research I can.
Any thoughts o suggestions are much appreciated.

There is no average... One guy uses his boat more then the next guy and less then a third guy - the condition of the boat and the maintenance done is more important then the hours, especially on something that new.

More hours is not necessarily bad, less is not necessarily good.

There is no average. You'll find boats that age with 10 hours on them or a few hundred. Personally I'd worry more about a boat with under 40 hours than one with 200. Stuff that sits around seems to have more problems than stuff that gets used.

I have found that average usage is around 100-150 hours per year. But, I'm in Florida and we boat 9-10 months of the year whereas you might boat a bit less. I would be more concerned with the maintenance schedule (or lack of) than I would the engine hours.

I was going to say about 50 hours per year. Otherwise, there would be no reason to do your annual oil change(s).

since your along the gulf coast of Mississippi, assume 100 hours per year as a WAG. if you were in the north woods of Minnesota, it would be 30 hours per year.

Re: What is an average number of hours...

I find that 50 hours per year is typical, but perhaps not average for seasonal boating. You would expect to see more hours in areas where there is an extended season or full year boating weather.

So, a 2007 boat would typically have 250 hours, but could have 400 hours in southern regions. From a value standpoint the more hours, the less value, eventhough it might be average for the area.

I put over 100 hours on mine in April alone. Average 200-300 hours a year
