What is a "Follow Request"?

I received one and pressed okay. It's from a screen name I don't recognize. Figured, what can it hurt, ya know?...

I assume I commented on one of their posts or something but it may be a helpful tool I dont know about.

Pretty sure that somebody went into you profile and clicked the "Follow" button..

Basically, it's asking you if it's ok for that user to be notified when you start new posts or have activity..
My guess would be somebody likes your style and wants to learn more by what you post..

That or your now following them and will get notifications on topics they start and post to.

its the VB5 forum equivalent to facetube. someone wants to follow your every post. this isnt facetube, so I dont accept followers....
