What is a 96 Merc. 90hp 2 stroke worth? Help before I buy..

I have found another 96 merc. to take place of my current merc. Powerhead went 2 days ago. Guy says make an offer but wants 3000.00 for it. What is it worth. Seems to run good, compression in all three cyl. are about 115 across the board. Tilt trim work good.

Any ideas before I offer. Thanks

Personally I think that is about $1,000 too much for a 12 year old motor.
