WHAT HEIGHT TO MOUNT OUTBOARDS

I HAVE 2 150HP JOHNSON OCEAN RUNNERS(ONE IS COUNTER ROTATION) I WANT TO MOUNT THEM ON OUTMOUNTS 450 mm AWAY FROM THE TRANSOM.MY BOAT IS A 25 FT CAPE CRAFT MONO PLANNING HULL.AT WHAT HEIGHT DO I MOUNT THESE MOTORS?

Start with the cavitation plates level with the bottom of the hull and raise them up a mounting hole at a time till you start to loose preformance. The higher you can run engines and maintain steerage, thrust and cooling the faster the boat will go. Insome cases it requires a lot of moving around to get it right, you might ck with the manufacturer for help

If mounting motors on a bracket, a general rule (but not always correct) is to mount the motor 1" (25mm) higher that the keel per 5" (125mm) offset. Of course this all depends on the type of bracket used for the offset.
