Re: what happened

The only true "jet ski" left is a stand-up. Something that seats 2, 3 or 4 people... especially the new ones that are as big as my boat are just that...boats (well, jet boats).

How's that? :D :p

Re: what happened

good start, they make great speed bumps while I use them for a ramp, I especially like the look on the face of the owner as he swims for dear life. Besides they are fall downs not stand ups every one who rides one falls down and there is no room for your girl so just leave her on the beach and we will wave as we run you over. NOW we are rocking.

Re: what happened

he he....it just takes more balance and a hint of skill to ride a stand-up. I know what you mean though....i love it when someone on their mini-boat pleads to try out the stand-up and show their "skill". They always are so confident and arrogant.....and then get so SO pissed when they realize at most they can ride it face down in the footwell with their legs flailing out behind them! :D It's funny as hell. Then they go back to doing nothing but going fast in a straight line or at most a couple 180's on their jet rocket.

As for there not being room for your girl...there's plenty of room! Couple different positions actually. She can either stand behind you or stand in front of you. My personal favorite is having her kneeling backwards in front of me though...yeah...that's definitely the best one :D

Seriously though, I've been riding stand-up for probably 15 years now so I generally will never fall off (especially wearing a heavy back pack full of stuff I want to keep dry). On the other hand, if I'm in the mood to make up and try hard new tricks I'll fly off constantly until I get it down. No worries though...she'll circle back around and pick me up! You can't be too worried about looking bad and take a spill...all part of learning new tricks.

Most people look down on them until they try to ride one....and then they still do because their really pissed at themselves for not having the coordination to do it 1st time. Takes too much practice and determination to ride one for most people.

Apparently you are not one of the people who have looked at the videos on my web site. www.cobrajetsteering.com I do things with 2 or 3 seaters most people would want to have you put in a funny farm for. and the stuff I don't dare put on my site would scare the heck out of a normal person. like jumping 5 foot waves while steering with my feet laying flat on my back . I have driven stand ups and at 52 preferr the comfort of my bigger ski so when im not doing stunts I can enjoy the ride. I also enjoy slolom skiing behind my big ski so I get all the fun from a ski that there could possibly be. And I have a special fishing set up and even cast net bait and fish from my 3 seater when I get the notion.heck I even have a stereo in the ski , the benifits of being an inventor, if I want it i do it.

Re: what happened

I don't offer steering for stand ups to the public YET ,however that dosen't mean I don't have them . The install is not nearly as simple and quick as the regular skies but if you posess the mechanical skills and abilities. I could be pursuaded to do one for your ski, since you mentioned you like to do tricks etc, this will be a totally different experience and make you look like the king of jet skis,So far I only do them when I can do the install. The reason being that it requires an access through the ride plate, a small triangular opening about 2 in by 2 in and I can actually add lift and plaining to the ski even with the ride plate opened below the nozzle, plus most racers port the ride plate any way. The steering is not shown on my site but it basically uses a small fin that comes to the lower surface of the ride plate and a set of wings that operate between the ride plate and the nozzle for plaining and lift. This is so effective that my son tows people on a knee board behind his stand up just for the fun of it and swears its easy to steer while doing it, we had sevreal stand up riders try his ski and they all agreed it was totally different and way more fun.
