i have a ca 76-80 evinrude that has a johnson topp

first of all there was a great compresion. then i took the fule pump off and carbs for cleaning took me ca 3 days becaus of rain and bad weather... then i hooked every thing up hopeing for life butt then i notised that it was realy realy easy to pull so i cheaked the compression but noon at all not even on fingers.... some times i can feel it but bott as good as it was?

any ideas?

it gets sparks but and fule
i even tryed filling the silinders with wd-40 and other mixis with fule with no luck after... butt it hold the oil fine so it shudent leak....
i can even use a lighter to explode the fumes from the exhaust


please any ideas....any questions?!?!

You need to check comp with a good screw in guage,and have plugs out,if you pull to start ,be sure to pull it 6-7 times good and hard,make sure you see the flywheel turning,sometimes the recoil dont grab the flywheel good.If no good ,take the cyl.head off,if you have no comp in both cylinders your gasket must be bad ,or your flywheel not turning

first of all thank you for replying
the flyweel turns fine.
the comp tester is tightend good
no comp in eather silinders...

gues ill have to take the topp off then?

Did the motor run before you started working on it & how do you know it had great compression ?

it dident run.. i bougt it used some days ago from som guy. u fealt the comp wile pulling the startcord and ween we pooked our fingers in the sparkplug hole... dident have a comp tester then butt it fealt realy good.

are there any bypass wents or anything that cud get stuck to lett al the comp leak? i know its a 2strok but just asking

ca 95psi-100psi hand starting is that ok? for this model?

Yes that is good pressure for that motor. Check for good spark and good fuel. 50:1
