What Grease for '97 Volvo Penta Impeller?

The last time I replaced my impeller, it came with a small amount of clear, silicone-like grease. I smeared the stuff around the housing and never again had the squeeling noise from the impeller when the boat was started.

I remove my impeller every winter and would like to re-lube the impeller housing, but I'm not sure what type of grease was supplied.

Yes, I know I'm being cheap re-using the same impeller for 3 years, but I also carry a spare in the boat.

It was a silicone gel, not grease in that package. JOY Dishwashing liquid is all I ever use.

Really! That sound like a good trick.
My latest impeller was an e'bay win and no silicone or anything came with it, I couldn't resist to put a little something on the tips for the initial run and it ended up being just a smidge of grease, but not enough to cake up anything I hope. Next time I'll use dawn or Joy.
