Re: What fuel tank does the Chaparral 187 use?
Well all I can tell you is my chaparral 2000SL 20' bow rider 5.8 omc drive, has a 30 gal fuel tank it's located under the deck and the only access is at the fuel hose connections in the rear via round 8" diam access panel that you pry up out of the floot and in the front of the tank is the sender and hose connections access panel is right behind the ski locker between the front seats. I had some rot in the floor at the rear access panel for the tank and I sawed out the top of the floor stringer to stringer, it opened up to where I was able to lift the tank out, it was made of alluminum and in decent shape, the floor panel was replaced with 3/4 plywood and glassed over so once again the tank becomes intregal to the hull.
