I am considering buying a 2000 model FishMaster Travis Edition with a 90 HP Mercury. This is a 17 ft boat. I am attaching a link to a picture of a similar boat for sale on this site. The one in the picture is 18 ft but they are almost identical. What do you think of the design of this boat? Have you ever heard of this brand? They were made by Dynasty Boats (same as Polar) in 2000, now they are made by Tracker.

The boat I am considering is in good shape but has no trolling motor or depth finder. However, it dsoes come with an aluminum trailer. The asking price is $8000, does this seem reasonable?

http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/marine_classifieds/view_photos.cgi?ad_id=34396&img=

Todd in TX

Welcome Todd. Best bet on prices is to get a copy of Boat Trader for your area or go to traderonline. On the $8,000 - that seems high to me. You can get a 2000 90 hp Johnson here on iboats for $3,860.00 with a warranty.

Thanks for the input SoLittle and thanks for the welcome. I went to NADA and it lists this boat, trailer, and motor at about $8000 but I'm definately interested in opinions about this boat. If this is too much then I might need to reconsider this deal.

Do you think this would be an OK lake boat with a little Bay fishing thrown in?

Todd

Nice looking fishing boat. For lake use sure...bay use??? I dunno...seems a little small. Maybe if its nice weather and no waves...

It's a great little bay boat if you plan on using it in West Galveston Bay or west of the causeway. East bay is a little rougher and lots ship traffic. We don't like to take our boat over there very often and we have a 21' center console with a 150 on it.
