I am going to look at tomorrow and it seems like a nice boat. The 454 was replaced with a 350 for some reason last year. I think it has a Bravo outdrive because he isnt sure but he knows its a Merc. He said it was stored High and Dry by the original owner and this guy only bought it 2 months ago. He says it looks new in the cabin and the hull looks like it was hardly ever used. I will let you guys know tomorrow.

The design looks good but I've never been on one but if its as clean as he says I will be on one.

I think it'd be a better deal if it had the 454 in it. Baltimore area...probably has some salt water usage. I think it's worth checking out but would probably be a deal at closer to $4k.

My bud had a 23 scarab. He sold the 5.7 mag mpi out of it and put in a 454 (carb) that he built for the boat. It got up on plane really quick but the mag mpi went just as fast (60).
Nothing wrong with 350's... aspecially the mag mpi's!

if you decide to buy it and want more power. You can a good bit more horsepower and torque out of another small block (without getting totally silly) than a stock 454 and not have as much weight in the back, and use the small block marine accessories you already have...

I did want to offer him 4K for it but it does come with a 96 Shorelander tandem axle trailer. He also sounds like a nice guy and I know it would suck not having a job plus he really wants to keep it but the job loss forces the sale.

My boss which also builds motors for dirt track said we could build a 350 with 400+ Hp that would run on pump gas. He has a lot of nice heads sitting around that he needs to sell and many other parts that I could use. I'm still not sure why the previous owner didn't put a 454 back in but the only the only thing I could think of was that it was cheaper or they had one?

As the old saying goes ( good from far, far from good ). It took A LOT of work to get it to look like that and you can tell a lot of gel coat is gone by the raised parts where the stickers used to be. There are many little things that need to be fixed on it too so I want to see what the stingray looks like. I would also like to get some more speed out of a boat and all I can get out of the Lib is about 45. ( The extra 2' doesn't hurt either ) :p

I see. Well Stingrays are known for being fast hull so you should easily be able to get more speed.

I doubt it will hit 60mph gps with a stock 350.

I have always really, really liked those liberators. like a serious cuddy cabin/offshore style cruiser but smaller. good luck on the new boat. What was the reason for pulling the 454? does the CO have any idea?
