What do I have (pics)

I am needing help identifying what kind of outdrive I have, the ram is leaking and I can not find the part number to replace it with. I don't know if it is a 280 or a 290. The boat is a 1995 Chriscraft 26' with a 7.4GL. Thanks

It's not a 280 or a 290, it's a DP-A or newer.
You should have a tag on the upper part of the outdrive, right where the helmet attaches to the drive. It will give you the model and serial number.
Post the numbers and I can post links to the OEM service manual for it.

PS, you REALLY need to take those props of and send them in to get repaired. and straightened out.

I already had the props redone but the boat is in the water and I can't pull it out for a lack of trailer so I am having the marina pull it out for me for a fee. I am just having a hard time finding a new ram.

Do you have a SN for the drive, or even the engine may help.

I went to the boat this weekend and got some numbers from the drive in the engine bay. I don't know whats what because it was hard to read but there were two sets of numbers. DP-S 4111530071 3868299
Does this look like a DP-S?

Actually, you posted the TSK (Transom shield) SN and spec number. The transom shield is what is the DP-S(290)
Your drive is a model DP-D1 with a 1.78:1 gear ratio. SN 3102165477
The engine is a 7.4GL PNCM, SN 4110123612.

Look just above your original post where it says Volvo Penta Parts and click on it. Then to 7.4 then your model number then to this.

I purchased the ram and I was doing the reading for the install but am a little scared of doing this because of a certain bolt that gets stuck all the time. What do you think a shop would charge me for the labor to replace a ram on a DP-D1?
