Can't find the serial numbers. Its a 2000 sea ray amberjack 290 but long blocks have been replaced. Is this the module that had the paint problems? And had the problems with the fuel boiling when engine is off?
I just bought the boat and first time out both motors quit on me at different times. Sort of sounds like vapor lock but sort of doesn't. I just wanna go thru the boat and make sure everything is good before i take it out again. The fix you are referrimg too is that coolant check valve?
VL doesn't cause motors to just stop. VL happens after motor has been running for a while and then stop, have lunch, swim a hour or so, and I will start but then die when throttling up.
If you where running along and the motors start dying, I would pull the fuel filters and dump the contents into a clear container. See if there is anything but clean gas (no water or crud).
Port motor after about 1.5 hrs would drop rpm from about 3200 to 2000 it would fluctuate. I bring it down to idle and it ran fine for A Little but, did it again and shut down. It restarted once but second time didnt restart. Stbd motor when i went to dock i was at idle and it died twice but third time it wouldnt start. I got it home and rinsed motors and port motor spuddered at little and then starts good from now on, stbd motor starts good. I checked the codes and Port motor didn't have any trouble codes. Stbd motor did for map and iat sensor
The fuel tank vent line is next to the gas tank fuel fill hose. Some vent lines are part of the gas fill and some have the vent just beside the fill
If its the fuel tank vent line, wait for it to do it again, and then remove the gas cap. If you hear air being sucked in and the issue is gone, then its the vent line.
