What carb kit do I need?

Hi to everybody. I just recently bought a 67' Glasspar Marathon from a co-worker with a Evinrude 25HP Sportster outboard, model number 25202. I was wondering what carb kit I needed to rebuild the carb. I pulled the cover a couple days ago and all I could smell was varnish. The co-worker I got the boat from said that it had been sitting for a year or so. So I then tried to find what kit I needed from iboats and have found that there is two for the year and hp I have. Can somebody help me figure out what I need? There is a number stamped on the carb, 315082-D3. Other than that I have no idea what is needed. Thanks in advance.

Your model number is for 1972. The OEM kit, which includes the float is part # 384413. That kit is the equivalent of Sierra part # 18-7222 which also has the float.

Flash,do you know the yr.According to the iboat chart there was no 25 hp in 67.Looks like up to 55 and from 69 on.Im betting its the 7042 # but you should also get the full kit with float.Hpefully someone else will have a solid answer for you.But if it is a 25 hp.my thinking its newer than the boat,which is how I ASSumed it would be the 7042 kit.also know the carb kits may come with extra parts,thats because many parts are used in different engines and its cheaper to bag up 1 kit for more than 1 eng.you may also look at the picture of the kit and see if it looks like your parts.

Thanks ezeke, I'll be ordering that kit in the next day or so. Can't wait till I get the carb fixed. I really want to get the boat in the water ASAP.

What carb kit do I need?

Hello all, I am try to figure out what carb. kit I need as well. I have a 74 Evinrude 40 hp 40455 model. The number on the carb. is 386647. I can't seem to find that carb. part number in the selection of kits. I order one and it's not the one. Many thanks for all the help.
