What brand on repair manual is best?

I have some serious problems whit my boat and i wonder which brand on the repair manual is the best? i have a Johnson 150hp 1987.<br />Whats the alarm signal in the shifter arm, i have no vro pump!?

ANDREAS, Let me know how you make out. Have same 1987 Johnson 150's. 1st time out this season steady alarm came on after 5 minutes. I do have VRO. Good luck!

Does any one now wheres the overheating sensor sits, that may couse my alarm, is it just a warning or will it switch of the motor or something?, becouse after that the engine will not run when i put in a gear. and its sounds like coughing on idle.

Regardless of which manual you purchase, the problem is the alarm going off and is it real or false. The simplist reliable test is to confirm your engine is running cool (cold). Place your hand on the exhuast manifold (carefully) and make sure it is cool/cold to the touch when running. If it is and the alarm (Overheat alarm) is sounding, then the sensor on the engine is defective. If the manifold is hot and getting hotter, shut down the engine and find out why (That is why the alarm is sounding).<br /><br />Hope that offers some direction<br /><br />kz<br />

Thanks for all posts, but my real problem is not the alarm, its that the motor one day just die when i put in a gear and try to increase throtle, i have checked fuel, plugs, ignition,. becouse whitout a gear and if i pull the timing arm forward under the flywheel, then i can increase the throtle how much i wont, very hard for a rookie as me to find out.<br /><br />Thansk again for your replys Andreas
