So my family is looking for an offshore CC or WA. We want the twin engines because where our lift is located, it makes docking a lot easier. The largest boat that can fit on the lift is 26' MAX. Yesterday, we took out a Pursuit 255 OS and I liked it a lot, but Visibility was quite an Issue. I know that you can get out of the weather with the hardtop and all, but I had trouble seeing through the plastic dodgers, and the window. The ride was great. When coming through the Beaufort Inlet, one of the huge privately owned cruise ship type boats cam through and threw off a good 3-4 foot wake, and I throttled down the boat, and it went right through it. My dad has his eye on a Century 2600, but something about the boat tells me that visibility is going to be worse. The century has a better layed-out cabin, and has twin F200 yamahas.
Since this is a beach house, and will not always use the boat, I think that 93,000 is steep for a weekend boat. I have my eye on some 23' - 26' center consoles such as Key West, Sailfish, Polar, etc. So for our use, I think they can go offshore with ease, for under $60,000 and probably half that. These are totally different boats, but any help deciding between the two would help. Also feel free to convince me otherwise about a different boat. Thanks, Eatmydirt85
