I am very intrigued, but also a little concerned about the "Not getting any spark", is this a high $$$ repair?

OC, If that Starcraft wasn't on the other coast I would be all over it! $2000 looks like a deal to me. If you do your own repairs thats a fairly cheap fix. couple of hundred dollars and your in the water with a sweet ride Even if it's a little more I would go for it. ( the bonus is getting to join the Starcraft club) BTW still waiting for my membership card

The boat itself looks real nice. An 85 should be fairly decent power for it. I am not a Merc guy, but I have heard that there are Mercs from certain years where parts are tough to find. Maybe throw a post up in the Mercury outboard repair section on here and ask the guys if this motor is from one of those years. Tough for me to tell by looking at it if the motor is also an '84. If it was JohnnyRude I could tell you and also would know that it was either a coil or power pack problem. Spark issues are more expensive to fix than "not getting gas" problems but still not too bad if parts are readily available.

I agree with NB its a Mariner from looking at the pictures . I dont think I would toss $2000 at it at least not where I live Granted from what I understand Starcraft prices are much higher out there.

BIG DENT IN THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BOW. Sounds like it was abused Even in Oregon I would back off at the price . To many things to get it running and then mabey find MORE problems. Now if he would take 500 off the price. The add sounds like a careless owner, or whatever. Ed In Mt Vernon Wa.

Nice looking hull...I'd ask what he wants for the boat/trailer combo since he's really trying to dump his motor problems on someone else

The merc looks great but as mentioned could be a $$$ pit.
