What are these mounts used for?

These are on the rear of a 1988 Bayliner Bass 1709. I assume they use to mount some type of poles or brackets. there is one on each back corner and one in the center. Anyone have any ideas as to what they would have been use for? Looks too far back for a Bimini, and too light weight for some kind of ski bracket attachment. Just has me puzzled. Thanks

Well, I had the same two guesses. Are they plastic of metal?

They are made of plastic/polymer type material with SS screws for mounting and SS pin and chain.

Well I'll be darned! Thanks for the info. I guess that plastic is sturdier than I suspected.

Now I guess finding a set of original ones with be like finding a needle in the hay stack. I have not been able to find a pic of one with them mounted on a Bayliner Bass...yet.

interesting. Even if not a skier, tripod looks like it could be useful, say, for a winter storage cover support.

Yes, they are very strong. Had them on my Baja, pulled tubes, 2 skiers, wakeboarders...never had an issue! Mine were thru bolted, not just screwed into the deck...If you use them for anything that offers a lot of resistance (i.e. tubes) I'd thru bolt at least 2 of every 4!
