What are carbs and how do i drain them?

I own a 4hp johnson seahorse and i have been advised to drain my carbs. Where can i find them on the motor. somebody please help!!!!<br /><br />P.s A diagram would be much appreciated if possible.<br /><br />Thanks tommo

turn the gass off and run till it quits . the onley time i would drain the carb is if i wer going to store it for a long time .like for the winter up north . down here wqe dont let them sit that long . some carbs have a plug in the bowl to drain them but you have to take the cover of the front of the carbs to do that.what year is the motor
